2010 Best World Cup Goal

If you watched the World Cup you knew there were a couple of goals that topped the list but despite what you say I really have to give it to my favorite team on this one: The Dutch. And my main man and incredible left-footed defender Giovanni Van Bronckhorst.

So here's a video where you can see all angles of just how amazing of a shot this was. I also loved the comment by the announcer who said, "What possessed him to have a go?"

In lieu of the last post about Roberto Carlos' incredible shot this one is right up there with the laser beam rip from 40 meters out. I think what really blew my mind as I was watching this game in a downtown bar in Orlando the day it happened, was the fact that he was further wide than the 18 yard box.

It was just not an angle I would consider shooting but it also makes me want to harp on the point: You can't score if you don't shoot! Something I will hammer into your head during the Epic Soccer Training course.

Now watch this shot!

Hope you enjoyed it too! If you didn't think this was the best goal of the World Cup well what was yours and why?

Cheers,
-Matt Smith
