The Impossible Free Kick

I don't know if you remember this kick back in 1997 when Roberto Carlos took a free kick against France but it was hands down one of the most amazing shots I have literally ever seen in my life. If you haven't seen it you are in for a real treat.

This is a great still shot I found but you'll see the whole thing in the video below.

Roberto Carlos who was one of Brazil's best left-footed defenders was a free-kick machine. He was literally said to have practiced free kicks for hours after club practices. This is something that has been idolized and emulated by England's own David Beckham.

They say that practice makes perfect. Well here is a prime example of that. I could get into the physics of how to do this and we actually do get into some of the details in the Epic Soccer Training System but have a look and prepare to be amazed by this goal.

Not only does it have incredible curve and speed, but it was taken about 40 yards out and just by looking at the amount of people that France has in the wall is a testament to how much respect teams have to Roberto Carlos' free kick abilities.

Hope you enjoyed that! Now get out there and practice.

Cheers!
