Wayne Rooney's is struggling and struggling bad. After today's easy chance to easily end his 22 game goal streak with a penalty kick against rival Arsenal, Rooney sailed the PK over the cross bar thus continuing his struggles.
This is a prime example that people go through slumps. Professional baseball players go hitless for weeks. Basketball players...well they don't go scoreless but they can get cold. The same is true for soccer players. You can just happen to be off your game and that's exactly what's going on with Manchester United's striker Wayne Rooney.
So what do you do in those situations?
Well it's clear that when you are supposed to produce results and fail to do so then the game becomes far more frustrating and far more mental. Stay focused and stay positive. By continuing to be down on yourself is no way to get out of a slump.
You need to keep grinding and that's what it looks like Wayne Rooney is attempting to do. Currently from watching the Arsenal vs. Man U game he is working like a madman getting into space and causing a ruckus on the defense but currently he can't seem to find that last touch to put it into the back of the net.
My words of wisdom to Rooney is keep your head up man. Keep running around like the tasmanian devil of a forward that you are and pretty soon you'll be putting goals away again seemingly at ease.
There is 10 minutes left in this game so I'd love for that to happen before last whistle.
Cheers!
