Fulham manager Mark Hughes felt aggrieved that his side could not capitalise on their chances in their 1-0 loss to Tottenham.
Hughes was under no illusion that his side, sitting in the relegation zone just one point off the bottom of the table, deserved to beat Spurs at White Hart Lane.
“We dominated. That’s the story of the game. We seem to be going over old ground in recent weeks,” Hughes told Sky Sports.
“It was a similar story today. I thought in the first half we had good shape and were really positive. Spurs created very little.”
“Second half we had to come out and be positive and brave. We were up against a top team. We had to take the game to them and that’s what we did.”
Hughes said that his side could force an attacking outfit such as Tottenham to defend to get the win, was credit to their performance.
“In the end they (Spurs) were quite happy to get people behind the ball. They have the personnel to hit you on the break,” he said.
“I’m pleased with what we’ve produced today on the back of a fantastic performance at Stoke, although today we didn’t get any points.”
Spurs manager Harry Redknapp re-affirmed to the media that he believes David Beckham will join the club on loan from MLS outfit LA Galaxy.
Redknapp said on Friday that he would not be prepared to pay the England international big money to play at White Hart Lane, but said the 35-year-old would not be motivated by finances if he was to join Spurs.
“I think David would be interested. I think he’d fancy coming here,” he said.
“It tells you everything about the man when he could be sat at home and he wants to come here and play football.”
“He doesn’t need to do it for the money. He wants to play and that’s why he wants to come here. I think he’d like to come here. He’d be great to have around here.”
